Passport Pages - Sunshine Coast

Jul 12, 2021

This Travel Tuesday we’re venturing across the globe to down under! Last week we featured a sunny spot, and with summer in full swing, we couldn’t help ourselves but highlight another. Additionally, with COVID-19 guidelines and international borders opening up soon (hopefully) we’re ready to live the slow and steady life, with a tan on our skin and a beer in our hand.

Enjoy the Water

The Sunshine Coast is the ideal place for surfing and pristine beaches. Whether you’re a seasoned surfer or just looking for some beginner lessons, you’re guaranteed to enjoy your time here, and catch a few good waves in the meantime.

If you’re not into surfing, you can opt for swimming with whales near Mooloolaba. Swimmers use wetsuits, snorkels and floating lines attached to the boat to safely float amongst the mammals.

Noosa National Park

Noosa National Park is a fantastic place to spend the day surfing, hiking, and enjoying the beautiful beaches! There is something for everyone here; whether you’re spying for koalas amongst the trees, or opting for more adventurous activities, Noosa is the place for you. Not to mention, it is the most picturesque place to be when it comes to achieving some very Instagram-worthy photos and videos for sharing with your friends and family back home.

Australia Zoo

For all the animal lovers out there, make sure you stop by the Australia Zoo. The animals are well taken care of, and visitors are able to pet and feed the kangaroos! If smaller animals are your favourite, you’re also able to hold a koala. Or, if you want more of an adrenaline rush, visit the crocodile encounter! Definitely don’t skip this must-see stop while you’re on the Sunshine Coast.

The Flight

The only downside to travelling to Oceania is, unless you live relatively close (in Australia, New Zealand or other surrounding countries) you’ll inevitably be faced with a fairly long trek to get there. Be prepared for long flights, hour-long drives, and losing sleep – but we promise you the destination is worth it! Once you get there, you’ll hardly remember the feeling of being crammed in a plane for upwards of six hours.
